Delete your Cairn Way account and data
You can ask for your Cairn Way account and everything stored in it to be deleted at
any time. You do not need to give a reason, and you will not be asked to justify it.
How to request deletion
- Send an email to support@scribe.church
- Put “Delete my Cairn Way account” in the subject line.
- If you added an email address inside the app, send your request from that same
address so the account can be identified. If you never added one, say so in your
message and you will be told what is needed to find your account. - Say whether you want everything deleted, or only
part of your data (see below).
Requests are answered and carried out
within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What gets deleted
When you ask for your account to be deleted, all of the following is permanently
removed:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your account and its identifier | Permanently deleted |
| Your email address, if you added one | Permanently deleted |
| Your day streak and last active date | Permanently deleted |
| Your completed tracks and check-in answers | Permanently deleted |
| Anything you wrote in the description or reflection boxes | Permanently deleted |
Nothing is kept back, and no copy is retained for analytics, marketing, or any
other purpose. Deletion is not reversible: once your history is gone, it cannot be
restored, so it is worth being sure before you ask.
Deleting only some of your data
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove things from it. If you would
rather keep your account but clear what you have written, say so in your email — for
example, asking for your reflections and notes to be deleted while your streak stays
intact, or asking for your email address to be removed so the account returns to being
anonymous. Requests like these are honoured the same way and within the same 30 days.
What is kept, and for how long
After deletion, no personal data associated with your account is retained. Routine
server backups may hold deleted records for a short period before they age out; these
backups are encrypted, are never used to restore an individual account, and are
overwritten within 30 days.
Records of a subscription payment are held by Google Play, not by Cairn Way, and
are subject to Google’s own retention rules and to tax and accounting law. Cairn Way
never receives or stores your payment details and cannot delete records held by
Google. You can manage or cancel a subscription directly in the Google Play app under
Payments and subscriptions.
Uninstalling the app
Uninstalling Cairn Way removes it and anything stored on your device, and stops all
collection immediately. It does not, on its own, delete an account already saved in
the cloud — for that, send the email above.
